Position Summary
36 Bed LTAC facility located near Steubenville Ohio is looking for a full time nurse with at least six months experience, preferably in telemetry or critical care to care for clinically complex population of patients with a variety of co:morbidities. Must be able to work 12 hours shifts, rotating holidays, both daylight and night turn, and rotate every other weekend.
Develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care of assigned patients and families. The provision of care includes direct care along with the delegation and supervision of all nursing care. Specific components of the Registered Nurse role include (1) demonstrating clinical competence; (2) managing patient care; (3) improving quality of care; (4) establishing professional relationships and utilizing professional skills; (5) fulfilling responsibilities of the role of the hospital; and (6) developing clinical expertise per specialty.
Position Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervises the following positions: Nurses Aid, Unit Secretary and Monitor Techs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Ohio Registered Nurse license. Must have current CPR/BLS. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Minimum six months acute care experience preferred or equivalent experience in a specialty area such as Surgery, PACU, and Emergency Room. Able to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal means. Current immunizations (Varicella, Hep B and TB screening) are required. Ability to project a professional image. Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements. Ability to identify and implement components of the nursing process. Ability to identify learning needs and teach patients and families. Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals. Working knowledge and ability professional standards of practice in job situations. Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills, and able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Needs to possess a working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (Word processing, graphics, databases, spreadsheets, etc.) Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position. Must remain free of illegal drugs use, and from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Patient population includes but not limited to respiratory failure/vent dependent, hemodynamically unstable on vasopressors/cardiac drips, CHF, COPD, hemodialysis, sepsis, and wound care patients.
