The manager of Application Development role will be responsible for the build function in a Plan, Build, Operate Model. The Manager will oversee the day to day operations of the build/development team. The team consists of technical analysts and developers responsible for the design and development functions of mission critical, high available applications that supports a wide range of capabilities though a diverse technology portfolio in the call center operations space. Must be able to manage offshore development demand and relationships with multiple vendors. Offshore team expands and contracts based on project work load.
Responsible for evaluating existing applications to determine technical changes, schedules projects, resources, and monitors project timelines. Oversees feasibility researches, estimates project timeline and cost. Responsible to ensure non:functional requirements such as application monitoring, proper error handling, Disaster Recovery etc... take place with every project.
Responsibilities and Duties:
:Manage software development team and process(SDLC), including tools, methodologies, metrics, technical resource allocation and project delivery
:Create high:level plans and work closely with the project management team to revise and update as needed
:Act as point of escalation to support team and remove road blocks
:Prioritize development tasks throughout the SDLC
:Lead teams working on both long term and short term software projects
:Provide thought leadership to development team and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
:Lead team in developing application roadmaps for entire portfolio
:Responsible to ensure non:functional requirements are considered in all projects
:Responsible for relationship management with partner provides both external and internal to MetLife
Qualifications and Skills:
:5+ years of experience managing an application development team with offshore resources
:3 : 5 years of Call center technology experience
:Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and planning skills
:Excellent relationship building skills
:Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
:Ability to keep up with emerging technologies
:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related course of study requried
:Avaya telephony/CTI Experience
:NICE Workforce Management and Survey experience
:5+ Years Java development and integration experience
