Develops and executes effective account management strategies for larger, more complex accounts to meet profitable growth and cross-selling objectives.
**LOCATION REQUIREMENT: This position requires that the candidate be located in the State of Ohio. Only candidates residing in the State of Ohio will be considered.
Fundamental Components:
Act as senior strategic business partner to constituents (producers, plan sponsors, customers) to optimize the positioning of Aetna's products and services and to attain profitability and membership objectives Develops and executes the renewal process ensuring appropriate margins and customer/membership retention targets are achieved Prepares client for renewal by explaining cost drivers of benefit plan, offers solutions to reduce costs, delivers renewal to client and producer Formulates complex financial decision recommendations and presents them to management Assesses the competitive environment and develops sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and drive a competitive advantage Accountable for establishing and maintaining relationships with appropriate internal partners, (underwriting, plan sponsor services, medical management, etc.) Ensure clients are kept informed of any regulatory issues and/or developing healthcare trends potentially impacting their benefits program strategy Works with clients to make certain that any changes resulting from this activity are appropriately addressed within the context of their business needs and employee benefits strategy Leads finalist presentations related to either new business or growth/cross sell opportunities on designated customers Creates and implements realistic, affordable plans to meet business objectivesUses rigorous financial and value analysis to manage and enhance profitabilityAssesses and adjusts return on value of services to achieve profitabilityMonitors results and tackles problems directly and with urgencyIntegrates cross-functional interdependencies when making business decisions Anticipate and respond to marketplace trends Develop strategies that drive the business Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information effecting Aetna's industryEffectively projects the impact of future trends in the marketplace and develops strategies to capture sales as a resultFormulates strategies and tactics that convey product or services value propositionInfluences product development to anticipate and respond to marketplace trends
3-5 years large account sales experience in the healthcare or health plan industry Producer license as required by the state (must obtain within 3 months of hire if you currently do not have this) Medicare knowledge - Group Medicare experience a plus
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or combination of equivalent experience and education.
Licensed Insurance Sales in State of Ohio - additional states a plus
Account Management/ 3+ Years Strategy development/ 3+ Years
